There are very few places in this world that feels like home. Places where the sun feels warm & the air feels crisp. Places where human beings are kind, adventurous, and humble. There's a reason so many people travel to this incredible city, and it's not just because of the beach. It's because when you travel to a different city, you want it to feel like home.

For breakfast we ate at The Rarebit! it's a great place for drinks and great food in a mid-century atmosphere. Uncomplicated and delicious, there's something for everyone. Best of all, breakfast is served all day! We serve breakfast all day. Happy hour is Tuesdays through Fridays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm & enjoy $5 Moscow mules, or greyhounds. You can also enjoy their house red, white, & cava for $5 and $4 draft beers.
My personal favorite was the Huevos Rancheros. It's a corn tortilla topped with black bean puree, two fried eggs, roasted tomato salsa, avocado, sour cream, cilantro & scallions with the option to add pulled pork.
Later that night we were invited to cover Charleston Development Academy’s 9th Annual Capital Campaign Gala, Paris by the River. The gala was hosted at the Charleston Marriott Hotel, Crystal Ballroom, 170 Lockwood Blvd.
The evening began at 6:00 p.m. with guest registration, hors d’oeuvres and a prized silent auction. At 7:00 p.m. the ballroom doors opened and dinner was served. The evening continued with dancing and an array of entertainment. Music was provided by Next Level Band of Charlotte, North Carolina and Devonne Gary on Saxophone.
The next day was dinner at Eli's Table! Eli's Table features a menu offering bold, worldly flavors while using fresh and local ingredients. Named after the owner of Charleston Hospitality Group's son Eli, the restaurant is sentimental for many reasons. With the flair our Executive Chef has brought to Eli's Table, guests are treated with a new way to savor their favorite classics.
The highlight of my experience at Eli's Table was their famous Shrimp and Grits! It's made of smoked gouda grits, grilled shrimp, & tasso gravy. The chef personally made the special dish with no meat, as I requested. This restaurant WILL NOT leave you disappointed & I'll be back <3
