Sabrina Carpenter | EXCLUSIVE PERFORMANCE + interview

February 2017: Revel Event Center (304 E. Stone Ave.) | Sabrina Carpenter performed EXCLUSIVELY in Greenville, SC for the FIRST time. You may recognize the starlet from Disney Channel’s hit TV show “Girl Meets World“. What I bet you didn’t know, is that she’s also widely recognized for her music. She performed her biggest hit “Thumbs“, as the crowd went WILD. Thumbs went up in the air while the irony + passion fumed the room. I asked her what her preshow routine was + she confidently replied: “Jamz + dancing on the tour bus!”

I’ll attach my concert video here for all you lovelies <3  Thank you ‘Revel’ for having us!

my uncle: wide receiver for the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS.

In honor of the Super Bowl today, I thought I’d do a little bragging 😉 My family are the most important people in my life. Ever since I was a little girl, with my purple Tamagotchi hanging from my backpack, they’ve always encouraged me to be the BEST I can be. It’s been stressed that I can do ANYTHING I put my mind to as long as I put God first. So, the way I see it is I owe them everything + I wanted to do a special article for my uncle: STANLEY MORGAN.

He lives in Tennessee but he & my aunt come to visit as much as they can. I can remember Stanley coming to see my grandma, hands full of football cards. He’d save the best ones for my brother, inked with his signature. School & grades were always  the base of our conversations. I always admired the way he’d focus on us, especially with all the amazing things he’s experienced. Although right now he’s too sick to travel long distances, he stays in touch with us as much as possible.

My dad would tell us stories of how he would watch all the games and meet all the coaches. They’d let him run out with the team & how he got to meet some of the greats. My dad ended up playing football in high school, his entire family fell in love with the sport. notes him as one of the most underrated players of all-time.

“For a long time Morgan was one of the most feared deep threats in football, averaging 19.4 yards per catch for his career. Slot guys today don’t record single catches of 19 yards let alone average that much. His numbers compare favorably with Pro Football Hall of Famers Lynn Swann and John Stallworth. But because he wasn’t flying around in January like those two, he’s not in Canton where he should be.”

Although he played from 1997-1989, he’s still remembered today as one of the best players of all time. Therefore, in 2007 he was inducted into the Patriots Hall Of Fame.

“He hauled in 534 career reception, a franchise record that stood for 17 years. He remains the franchise record holder with 10,352 receiving yards and 67 touchdowns. His career average of 19.2 yards per catch still stands as an NFL record for those with more than 500 career receptions. Morgan also holds the single season receiving record for touchdowns (12 in 1979) and yards (1,491 in 1986). A four-time Pro Bowl honoree, he also was a fine punt returner, ranking among the career leaders in Patriots history. In 2007, Morgan was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame.”

Even today, Patriot fans are OUTRAGED that Stanley isn’t in the NFL Hall of Fame. The reason he isn’t is because he was humble. He didn’t put focus on getting famous and putting his brand out there. Stanley put everything into the game and his team. As of today, Patriot fans everywhere are fighting to get him admitted. With his talent compared to his stats, the best things are worth waiting for.

Interview w/ Kylee Russell: “I’m forever thankful.”

Most of you guys recognize Kylee Russell as Corbin Bleu’s adorable TV sister. Ever since Disney’s ‘Jump In’ aired in early 2007, the 20 year old actress has made her own name for herself. Guest starring on hits such as ER, Girl Meets World, Just Jordan, & Modern Family put her on the map! This beauty also has a hidden talent: she can sing. Plus, her fashion statements are the BOMB. Style steal coming atcha soon 😉

You may recognize her sister, Chelsea Tavares, who’s also in the acting business. The two are peas in a pod. Kylee is such a doll, and I had the best time doing this interview. Surgeon’s Warning: You may fall in love with her. Read ahead at your own risk.

What was it like working with such an amazing cast on Girl Meets World? Favorite person to work with? Girl Meets World was SO much fun to work on! I loved every single person on that set! Cast and crew! They are all unbelievably talented and were an honor to work with. Plus I got to see Cory and Topanga in action. They will forever be couple goals!

Kylee guest starring on 'Girl Meets World"

Kylee guest starring on ‘Girl Meets World”

Is it true you guest starred on Modern Family, but totally forgot to watch the episode? Haha, have you watched it yet? What was your experience like on set? YES!! ? I guest starred, had the cutest costume (70’s disco chick) and was in a scene with Rico Rodriguez. But yeah, I totally missed the episode and just kept missing it every time it came on and I’ve still yet to see it!

Out of everyone you’ve worked with, who do you stay in touch with the most? There’s a good amount of people that I stay in touch with mainly through social media but I’d have to say KeKe Palmer. We were like family before Jump In and I absolutely adore her.?

What projects are you working on now? I can’t say much on it now BUT it’s an exciting one and can’t wait for everyone to see it.

Kylee & Sabrina Carpenter on set of 'Girl Meets World'

You’re well known for your ADORABLE role as Karin from Jump In. How do you feel it has played a part in your acting career today? Jump In definitely pushed me further in my career. And also reassured me that I wanted to act for the rest of my life. When it first came out I was no longer “Kylee”, I was “the girl from Jump In” and I didn’t mind. ? It was an amazing experience and I’m forever thankful.

What your favorite fan interaction by far? I received a fan letter from Germany and she told me I inspired her to pursue her dreams. And reading/hearing that from fans truly makes my day and encourages me to never give up and keep on going.

I’ve watched your vlogs & I’m a long time subscriber! What advice do you have for others who want to start vlogging? What camera do you use? Oh no way!! Thank you!!❤️ Well first things first, just be yourself! Post what YOU want to post and have fun with it. I always wanted to vlog but never started right away because I didn’t think people would find my life interesting. But then I was like “you know what? I’m just doing this for fun! If people like it, great! If they don’t, oh well.” And I film on an iPhone 7! The camera is bomb!

Tim Russ talks experiences on iCarly, Star Trek, Hannah Montana + more

Although I didn’t get to meet Mr. Russ in person, it was an absolute honor getting to work with him. You may recognize him from “The Twilight Zone”, “Roots”, “Spiderman”, “Law & Order: Criminal Intent”, “ER”, “Unfabulous”, “NCIS”, “General Hospital”, “Lincoln Heights”, “CSI: Miami”, “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”, “Good Luck Charlie”, “Suits”, “The Young and the Restless”, “Guys with Kids”, “Arrested Development”, and more! Whew. My fingers are exhausted after all that typing sooooo, if you wanna read or learn more about him you can check out his website here:

FUN FACT– Along with Armin Shimerman and Ethan Phillips, he is one of only three “Star Trek” regulars to appear in three different “Star Trek” series- Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993) and Star Trek: Voyager (1995).

1. What would you be doing if you weren’t acting or producing? I don’t typically produce actually, I do direct on occasion. But if I wasn’t doing either of those things, I’d probably be teaching.

2. You’re a legend as Principal Franklin from “iCarly”. Can you tell me more about your experience on set? Experience with main characters? Any favorite moments/scenes/episodes? The days on iCarly were typically long, and the producer would often make changes to the script right there on set while filming. The regulars on the show were fantastic, I can’t say enough about how skilled, and disciplined they were given that they had so much work to do including school for some of them. I liked all the episodes, each one was a kick.

3. As Dr. Meyers on “Hannah Montana”, what was it like working with such talent? Miley Cyrus? The Hannah Montana cast was also great to work with. Everybody got the job done, and they were gracious enough to take a picture with my daughter. Miley’s dad is also a musician so we had that in common.

4. As a recurring character on “Star Trek: the Voyager” (Tuvok), what are your thoughts on the NEW Star Trek movies & stories. Of course, nothing is as good as its original. The new series and films are designed for new audiences. That’s the way things are now days. Everything is being re-booted. The new series starting 2017 will be seeking new audiences as well. So far, from what I’ve seen, the newer projects have been well written and produced.

5. What is the biggest life experience you’ve had over the years? Nothing was more of a change in my life than having a daughter – that is quite the experience. But beyond that… I would say working on S.T. Voyager was an amazing experience in my career as an actor.

Tim Russ as "FBI Agent Marcus Collins" on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

6. What are you working on now? I am currently in post production on “Renegades Requiem” and the feature film, “Junkie” both of which I directed. I am in development on 3 other films, and awaiting the release of the feature film, “5th Passenger” which I played a supporting role in.

Jordan Fisher Interviewed ME at B93.7 Studios // ft. Radio Shorty

I meant to post this yesterday but my anxiety has been off the walls. YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE RADIO INTERVIEW HERE on B93.7’s website. I promise you it’s worth the listen & this article is worth the read.

As I headed into the B93.7 Studios I was crazy nervous (like always). Jordan Fisher was in Greenville, South Carolina and I was about to cover his private studio concert. I didn’t have time to pick up a friend so my jitters were the worst. I’m such a huge fan so I had to mentally give myself a professional pep talk. He’s starred on iCarly, Bones, The Thundermans, Teen Wolf, the list goes on. If you wanna watch a clip of him on iCarly, I’ll put the link to the video HERE.

Jordan & Radio Shorty

We all piled into the studio & everyone got settled. We all introduced ourselves and he was a total gentleman. As Shorty introduced me and my website, he invited Jordan to interview ME. The first question of the day what what I was majoring in & my future. I explained why I rejected my offer from UCLA, how I want to major in Communications/Marketing, and that I can see myself one day living in Atlanta. He was very supportive and encouraged me to explore LA. Although it’s a dream, I’m sticking to my plan. He’s still gave me some pretty bomb advice. Jump into whatever you want to do. He walked up to his parents and told them he fell in love with art. They were 100% supportive. My favorite piece of advice was: do what you love and money will come. The rest will come.

Jordan as “Doody” in Cast of Grease Live

Shorty brought up “Grease Live!” & Jordan talked about his pal Vanessa Hudgens. Her dad died like right before the air date for Grease. Everyone on set gave her their condolences and asked her if there was anything they could do to help. She said, “Just being here with you guys.” (Bet you didn’t know that one of Jordan’s favorite things in the world is Star Wars 😉

Jordan with CoStars of Teen Beach Movie

Jordan as “Seacat” in Teen Beach Movie

In the middle of the interview, Radio handed the interview over to me!! I was totally unprepared, but thankfully since I was such a fan, I already had some questions mustered up. As soon as I sat down he told me I had perfect teeth, so I had this goofy grin on the entire time. My first question was, “When I was on my way here I was thinking everyone kinda wants to be where you are right now, what legitimate advice do you have?” He talked about how if you do what you love and only worry about doing what you love then the financial things will come after. Do it because you love it. Don’t do it because you want the hollow things. If you keep working at it you will eventually find your success.

Jordan as "Holden" on Liv & Maddie

Jordan as “Holden” on Liv & Maddie

Then I asked, “In your transitioning process like for example you went from ABC’s Secret Life to to maybe a less mature like a disney channel show like when you did Liv and Maddie: is there like a mentality you have to have? Going from a more mature to a less mature aspect?” Jordan mentioned he’s worked on Liv and Maddie & Teen Wolf at the same time. He would do Liv and Maddie during the day & Teen Wolf during the night. He said, “As I’m growing I’m trying to stay away from the younger demographic. I’m aging and my music is more towards a more mature audience.”

Jordan on "Secret Life of the American Teenager"

Jordan on “Secret Life of the American Teenager”

Last question, “What future projects do you have coming up?” (This was before Jordan’s EP actually released.) He said that the biggest thing so far is his album. His EP. Excitedly he stated,”Its done and I’m excited to share it with everyone. This radio tour and going all over the country to get people excited about what I’ve been working on for the last two years.” After my interview, the first thing Shorty said was, “Heck yeah. I think she did a better job than i did. I quit, I’m gonna let her have my job.” I swear guys, Radio Shorty’s the COOLEST dude.

After all the talking, we finally go to the singing! His hit “All About Us” was his way of introducing himself to the world. I’ll put the videos of him singing here: HERE and HERE.

Interview with UK/LA based Fashion Icon: Lucas

I’m super excited to introduce you guys to Lucas. I came across him on Instagram and we INSTANTLY clicked. Check out his blog to see all the behind the scenes from his snapchat stories, photoshoots, and everything fashion! His style is absolutely dashing and every outfit seems to carry a touch of London. Not including the accent. Not only is Lucas an expert on style, he’s also an independent artist. You can check out his music here which, as you probably guessed, doesn’t end his list of talents. Not only is he in front of the camera, he’s also behind it. He has his “photographer” on his own resume and is taking social media by STORM. His Instagram is @enslucas but I’ll leave the link below!

1. I saw where you used the Newport Street Gallery in London as a style inspiration. Can you tell me more about your view on life imitating art?

Newport Street Gallery has been an inspiration mostly with it’s Jeff Koons exhibition which really inspired me mostly from a colouristic point of view. In my vision actually art imitates life. We should all aspire to turn our lives into a work of art where the dark sides intertwine with the bright notes and which we always regard as an unfinished work, still in need to be perfected.

2. What or who got you into modeling?
I started doing photography at 15 years old and practicing photography with one of my best friends @lastminutecouture I found myself being behind and also in front of the camera. Then art school has offered me a context where I could model and then London. But modelling is not something I do on a regular basis even though I do have an agency and I collab with quite a big number of brands.

3. Who’s your style inspiration?
My style inspiration would be Lucky Blue Smith who I really look up to . I am also very fond of the Old Hollywood style, I will always believe that in a previous life I lived in those times, having dinner at Cipriani’s in West Hollywood and driving a Chevy Malibu.
FullSizeRender (7)
4. Five of your favorite summer trends: go!
1. suede everything
2. white socks
3. highlights
4. turtlenecks on a rainy day
5. and obviously Stan Smiths

FullSizeRender (1)

5. What’s a typical day like for you?
A typical day can vary. I can sit all day and watch Orange is the New Black on television or I can have 300 things to do at once, from meetings with an agent, going to a casting, to meetings with a music producer I work close with or doing a photo shoot for a blogger .
I have branched out into several areas from fashion blogging, endorsing and photography to music and music production is a very important thing for me so obviously it gets a bit crowded sometimes.
I believe successful people wake up early and no matter when I go to bed I always wake up no later than 7 am usually 6:30.
A daily workout is always there and I never forget to play the guitar for at least 15 minutes.

FullSizeRender (2)

6. As an independent musician how would you describe your music to other people?
In one word : personal. Everything and anything you hear or will hear from me is created entirely by me from lyrics to melody.
I try to fight for my creative director role and it empowers me a lot to take an executive decision on my craft.

7. What is it you want to say with your photographs & what advice do you have for someone that wants to go into photography?
With my photography I clearly search for my own edge. Unique or not it has to be your input and as long as you feel you’ve given your all in that creative process you’re already on the right track.
When it comes to photography after moving to London I realized how important team work is and how much I needed it.
One advice would be do it with passion, always pay attention to what others are telling you and try to always upstage yourself and not others. Basically be the best version of yourself.

‘White Chicks’ Steven Grayhm talks Movie Sequel

I totally didn’t expect my interview with Steven Grayhm to go so smoothly. His personally is absolutely amazing while his acting is just the same. Although he’s best known from White Chicks (WHICH YOU CAN WATCH ON NETFLIX), he’s also made appearances in CSI, Sonny with a Chance, Smallville, The Boy Who Cried Wolf, Hellcats, and Alcatraz.

PG: You were cast as Russ in the movie “White Chicks”. How did you react to getting the part?

S: I was actually quite shocked. I had just finished a stage production of HAMLET. I was still shaking off the aftereffects of playing the title role and all that comes with it. I honestly thought it was the last thing I would be cast in. In the end, I guess the director (Keenan Ivory Wayans) thought I was funny. For my final audition he was in the room and he encouraged me to really just go for it. So I did. And…the rest is history.

PG: I re-watched “White Chicks” before our interview and honestly, the scene with Terry Crews where you roll out on a wheelchair is legendary. How many times did it take you to shoot it? (You can watch the scene HERE.)

S: I think twice because we cracked up the first time. For the most part, that scene was actually improvised. I thought it would be funny if I appeared to look like a “violated prom queen”. So, I had the hair department tease my hair. Ridiculous? Absolutely. But again, the artistic freedom we were given by our director was boundless.

PG: It’s been rumored that a “White Chicks” sequel would be coming sometime soon. In fact, Marlon Wayans stated, “We’re thinking about it, actually seriously talking about doing it. It’s the one thing that everybody begs us to do.” If Sony does pick up the sequel, would you agree to star in it?

S: I heard this news and was actually really surprised because both Marlon and Shawn underwent 8 hours of make up a day for those roles. It’s tough because the makeup doesn’t breathe and it obviously makes for really long days combined with shooting for 3-4 months. I love the character of “Party Boy” and more often than not, I’m stopped on the street by people quoting my lines who tell me how much they too love that character, too. Let’s wait and see what happens!

Steven costarring with Victoria Justice on the set of "The Boy Who Cried Werewolf"

Steven costarring with Victoria Justice on the set of “The Boy Who Cried Werewolf”

PG: Who was your favorite person on set to act with & why?

S: I think it’s a tie between our director Keenan Ivory Wayans and my co-star Terry Crews. Keenan because he really made me come out of my shell. Try being funny at 6am in the morning with 300 extras in a scene. It’s like doing a stand up act with no safety net. Well…Keenan WAS the safety net. He really built us up and always let us explore things in every scene. Terry because he was the most prepared actor on that set. He used to play professional football and I think his work ethic is cut from that cloth of being the hardest man working in the room. He continually surprised all of us on set with what he would come up with. FYI that dance he does in the nightclub – he had rehearsed and rehearsed the choreography leading up to that film day. That was his creation and he nailed it.

Steven costarring with John Reardon on the set of "White Chicks"

Steven costarring with John Reardon on the set of “White Chicks”

PG: Can you tell us anything about a “White Chicks” reunion?

S: I haven’t heard anything about that…yet.

PG: What’s your favorite fan moment?

S: Firstly, I don’t like to think of anyone as a “fan”. Maybe more like an enthusiast or a supporter of my work. There have been some pretty crazy moments where people have quoted lines to me in the bathroom of a restaurant. But I think the most touching was the time I was approached by a Best Buy employee who had told me that he had battled cancer – and won! He told me that White Chicks helped him get through all his difficult treatments because it put a smile on his face every day he was feeling down. I don’t care what people say – if you can achieve that? That’s a very beautiful thing!

Steven costarring with Terry Crews on the set of "White Chicks"

PG: Are you working on anything right now?

S: Yes. I am doing a show on Netflix called BETWEEN.

‘Paper Towns’ Yossie Mulyadi on Natt Wolff and Cara Delevingne: “they had really good chemistry”

Paper-Towns-QuadPG: Okay let’s be honest, how excited were you when you found out you got the role in the movie? I mean you got to interact with both Nat Wolff AND Cara Delevingne together!
Y: It was very very cool, they’re very chill and easy to work with. The whole cast and crew were just the best ever!! I had a blast!
PG: How many times did it take to film the scene?
Y: It was about two takes.
PG: Cara Delevingne is a personal favorite of mine. She’s definitely one of my biggest inspirations. Cara’s actually supposed to be launching a clothing line with Kendall Jenner soon. What was your favorite thing about her?
Y: I love how real she is, she is who she is and doesn’t care what other people think.
FullSizeRender (7)
PG: What was your favorite thing about Nat? Is he the goofball that he seems to be?
Y: Natt was really nice, they both have really good chemistry together and yeah he can be a goofball but also very professional when the cameras are rolling.
PG: What was the message you got from such an inspiring film?
Y: It’s a great big world out there, with so much possibilities.
PG: Are you working on anything right now?
Y: Currently I’m signed on to do a few Indies this year that are filming in the next couple of months. And I’m also in the middle of post production from my first web series.

Keesha Sharp Talks Amazing Time on ‘Everybody Hates Chris’

If you’re not familiar with Keesha Sharp, you should be. Simple as that. You may have seen her incredible roles in Law and Order: SVU, The Game, Melissa and Joey, Elementary, …if you wanna see the full list check out her website! Last week I had the honor of talking with her about her appearances on The Tracy Morgan Show, Everybody Hates Chris, Are We There Yet, & more.

"Everybody Hates Monica" -- Tracee Ellis Ross as Joan, Keesha Sharp as Monica in GIRLFRIENDS on the CW Network. Photo: Richard Cartwright/The CW ©2006 The CW Network, LLC. All Rights Reserved.

PG: You’ve appeared on the Tracy Morgan Show quite a few times in 2004. How did you react to his accident in 2014?

K: I did work with Tracy and I had an incredible time on set with him. When I heard of his accident I was shocked and of course concerned for him and his family. I was so happy to hear he had survived. I was of course sadden about  death of Uncle Jimmy Mack.

PG: You played the mother of “Keisha” and one of “Rochelle’s” best friends on the popular show “Everybody Hates Chris”. What was it like acting with such a comedic group of people? And did you get the chance to meet Chris Rock?

K: I had an absolute blast on “Everybody Hates Chris!” It was such a great cast and we had so much fun working together. I knew Chris before working on the show. And I just adore him! Working on this show was what opened the door for me to play one of my favorite characters, “Gigi” on “Are We there Yet?”  Ali Leroi  who was one of the Creators on Everybody Hates Chris was the Creator for the show “Are we There Yet?” He thought that I would be perfect for Gigi and the rest is history. Love him!

PG: You were a regular character named “Gigi” on TBS’s “Are We There Yet” starring Terry Crews, Ice Cube, & Teala Dunn. Gigi was the life of all the hottest parties & always ready for a good time, did you relate with such an outgoing character? Are We There Yet?

K: Loved this show! I can honestly say, it was one of the best professional experiences I have had. I felt so creatively free and respected. That is a rare thing is this business.  I also was given the opportunity to Direct!! As to being like “Gigi?” I have some similarities but as far as partying, I would rather be home looking at a great movie and learning from it:)

PG: In 2005 you acted as a rape victim in the short film “What If In This Life”. As a strong supporter of ending sexual violence I have to ask, do you have any advice for anyone who’s gone through such a terrible life changing experience?

K: You are not to blame!! You will overcome! And you will be whole again!! Don’t allow it to define you.

PG: Tyler Perry is one of the most talented human beings on this earth. Can you describe your experience getting to work on his film “Why Did I Get Married”? bbx2

K: Mr. Tyler Perry is one of the hardest working men in the business!! To watch him work is truly incredible. He does so much. He believed in himself and he made it! With his faith, he knew he could do it!

Check out Keesha Sharp in her new series “American Crime Story” which premieres February 2nd on FX starring John Travolta, Cuba Gooding Jr., and Sarah Paulson.
